This is how I make spaghetti straps. I don't use a loop turner or a straw or anything like that, just a safety pin.
I start with a bias strip, for these pictured I used a 1" wide bias strip. The length should be somewhat longer than you need.
Fold the strip in half with right sides together. Stitch about 1/3 of the way from the raw edge making sure you keep the same distance all the way down.
Then make a little slit toward 1 end, be careful not to cut your stitches. Use a safety pin as shown.
Just pull it through completely.
Then trim off the end and that's it. Don't press them though.

Then insert the safety pin into the opening. You might have to help it along at first, but then it will move along just fine.
Then trim off the end and that's it. Don't press them though.
How clever. I much prefer to attempt to turn the tubes in a variety of ways, whatever I have on hand once the rube has been seen. You get the picture, tube sewn I immediately begin the hunt for an appropriate tool to try to turn it...scissors, pens, pencils, whatever implement I can find. Failing that, I then begin the speech to myself, berating me because I knew those other things WOULD NOT have worked. Finally I'd get up and begin the testing of my drawer system. You know, opening and closing each to figure out where I put my tube turner. Finding it, I'll feel victorious and smug....in my defense I do not make tubes very often and we just moved so none of my storage drawers are in the correct place. I am beginning a organizational job so soon my fabulous new sewing room will be fully functional and I'll easily be able to find what I need. You make beautiful things and my hope is that my sons will get a move on, well the oldest get married and give me some grand babies to sew for.
